The "Freedom of Russia" Legion accuses Vladimir Putin of the shooting in the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. The group recalls the 1999 bombing that allegedly enabled the dictator to come to power.

The "Freedom of Russia" Legion reminded of the theory according to which the FSB was behind the 1999 bombings, which supposedly helped Vladimir Putin ascend to power.

"Official statement of the 'Freedom of Russia' Legion. For the tragedy that occurred today in Moscow, we blame Putin's terrorist regime. We have encountered similar manifestations of the Kremlin's dictatorship since the first days of Putin's rule and are not surprised by another bloody provocation. A terrorist attack was being prepared, as was its portrayal in the media. Let's emphasize that the Legion is not at war with the Russian civilian population," wrote the "Freedom in Russia" Legion.

the 1999 bombing

The Legion's statement refers to the terrorist bombings in Russia in 1999, which led to the Second Chechen War and, subsequently, the election of Putin as President of Russia.

Residents of a building in Ryazan were alarmed when suspicious bags were brought into the cellar. The patrol found a detonator and three bags of sugar, each weighing about 50 kg, with a substance that turned out to be the explosive hexogen.

According to one version, the Federal Security Service was behind the bombings. This theory was supported by former FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who was later murdered with polonium. About 300 people died in the 1999 bombing.
