Law enforcement is on the lookout for four masked and armed individuals believed to have fled the crime scene.

Injured victims of the attack received attention from crews of over 70 ambulances.

The shooting occurred just before a concert by the band Picnic. The concert hall at Crocus City Hall was packed. Special services were among the first responders.

The Meduza channel on Telegram recalls that on March 19, Vladimir Putin dismissed warnings from US diplomats about a planned terrorist attack on a crowded facility in Moscow. The Russian leader labelled the American warnings as "blackmail" by the West and an attempt to "intimidate and destabilise our society".
