The "Freedom of Russia" Legion accuses Vladimir Putin of a shooting at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. The group recalls the 1999 bombing attack that allowed the dictator to rise to power.

The "Freedom of Russia" Legion mentioned the theory that the FSB was behind the 1999 bombing attacks, which helped Vladimir Putin come to power.

"Official statement of the Legion 'Freedom of Russia'. For the tragedy that occurred today in Moscow, we blame Putin's terrorist regime. We have encountered such manifestations of the Kremlin's dictatorship from the beginning of Putin's rule and are not surprised by another bloody provocation. A terrorist attack was prepared. Similarly, its coverage in the media was planned. Let's emphasize that the Legion is not at war with the Russian civilian population" - wrote the "Freedom in Russia" Legion.

The 1999 bombing attack

The Legion's statement refers to the terrorist attacks in Russia in 1999, which led to the Second Chechen War and, subsequently, the election of Putin as the president of Russia.

At that time, residents of one of the buildings in Ryazan were alerted that suspicious bags were being brought into the cellar. The patrol found a detonator and three bags of sugar weighing about 50kg each, with a substance that turned out to be the explosive hexogen.

According to one version, the Federal Security Service was behind the bombing attacks. This theory was confirmed by former FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who was subsequently murdered with polonium. In the 1999 attack, 300 people died.

Shooting in Krasnogorsk

In Krasnogorsk, Moscow, at the Crocus City Hall concert venue, a shooting occurred on Friday. As reported by the Russian Investigative Committee, the number of victims increased to 115 people on Saturday. Another 121 were hospitalized. An explosion occurred in the building. Mass weekend events, as well as classes at universities in Russia, were cancelled.

The media reported that the attackers opened fire on people, and there were also reports of explosions. A fire broke out in the building, and the roof collapsed. Security forces blocked all exits from the city.

The Islamic State claims responsibility for the terrorist attack in Moscow. However, IS has not provided any evidence for this claim.
