In recent years, the biggest La Liga clubs have decided to remodel their stadiums. FC Barcelona opted to expand the legendary Camp Nou, which meant that last season, Robert Lewandowski and the team had to move to a temporary facility.
After the end of Euro 2024, club president Joan Laporta, Lamine Yamal, and Pedri visited the construction site. The visit allowed journalists and fans to see the progress of the modernisation. The renovated Camp Nou is steadily taking shape.
The club's Chief Operating Officer, Joan Sentelles, revealed that FC Barcelona's revenues from the stadium would increase by £235 million compared to pre-modernisation levels.
The Camp Nou will feature a new viewing point. It is located above the stands and allows visitors to see the entire stadium from this vantage point.
Joan Sentelles mentioned that the revenues after opening the viewing point are estimated at £2.2 million annually, which converts to over £8.6 million. This represents a significant financial boost for the Catalonian team.
Assuming that a ticket to the viewing point would cost around £17 and the terrace could be used daily, around 300 visitors would be needed each day. This seems a realistic forecast since Barcelona is one of Europe's most popular tourist cities, and FC Barcelona is a global brand.
