Explosion in Moscow: Top Russian general killed in scooter attack
As a result of the explosion that occurred on Tuesday morning in Moscow, the commander of the Russian radiochemical and biological protection forces, Gen. Igor Kirillov, and his assistant died. The explosive device was believed to have been concealed in an electric scooter. Videos of the explosion have appeared online.
According to Russian media, the bomb exploded in front of a residential building on Ryazansky Avenue—a road that starts about 6 kilometres southeast of the Kremlin. The bomb had an explosive power equivalent to 0.2 kilograms of TNT and was believed to have been hidden in an electric scooter, reported Meduza and Reuters.
As reported by the Interfax-Ukraine agency, citing a source in the SBU, the scooter with explosive materials was detonated when Kirillov and his assistant were near one of the buildings on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. "Both were killed", it was stated.
Videos showing the moment of the explosion have surfaced online.

"Kirillov was a war criminal and an entirely legitimate target, as he issued orders to use prohibited chemical weapons against Ukrainian troops. Such an inglorious end awaits all those who kill Ukrainians. Retribution for war crimes is inevitable," emphasized the Interfax-Ukraine informant.
Gen. Kirillov was known, among other things, for conducting briefings for the Russian Ministry of Defence since 2023. During these briefings, he claimed that the United States was involved in a biological weapons development program in Ukraine. He argued, among other things, that the USA developed a method of releasing "disease-carrying mosquitoes" toward enemy troops, as reported on Telegram by Meduza and Krymskyi Vieter channels.
