Attacks on the regions of the Russian Federation have been ongoing since the morning, where the three-day presidential elections began on Friday. Overnight, drones attacked a refinery in the Kaluga region. However, the most tense situation is in the border regions - the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

- The intensified attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian regions are linked to an attempt to destabilize the situation on the eve of elections, said Peskov.

Since the morning, the shelling of Belgorod and the entire region has been ongoing. They are carried out by guerrillas from the "Freedom of Russia" Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberian battalion.

Earlier, the guerrillas appealed to the residents to immediately flee through the prepared humanitarian corridor.

Panic broke out. On Thursday evening, the propaganda television Russia Today aired a report on the flight of residents from the border region.

The correspondent reported on dozens of cars that were hurriedly leaving the city, people who "are fleeing from Grayvoron". He also reported on the sounds of fighting that are taking place somewhere near the city.

The guerrillas opened humanitarian corridors that allowed Russians to escape safely.

"Since the opening of the humanitarian corridor, more than 7,600 vehicles have been used by the residents of Belgorod and Kursk to leave their homes," reported the Legion in a statement published on Friday morning.
