As reported by the Astra and RBK-Ukraine channels, the explosion occurred in the village of Polotnyany Zavod in the Kaluga region, just about 172 kilometres from the centre of Moscow. The moment of the drone attack was captured.
The governor lied to the Russians
It turns out that Governor Vladislav Shapsha lied to the Russians. "This evening, in the Dzerzhinsky area, air defence forces shot down four unmanned aerial vehicles. There were no casualties or infrastructure damage. A working group is on the site," - he wrote on Telegram.
However, as the Russian service Astra notes, air defence shot down only one drone, and the other three hit the oil refining equipment of the Petrochemical Plants' First Factory.
A series of attacks on Russian refineries
RBK-Ukraine, which cites its sources, reports that the attack was carried out by Ukrainian intelligence. Kyiv has not officially confirmed this yet.
This is another attack on Russian refineries in recent days. On Wednesday, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed that it conducted a series of drone attacks on three refineries in Russia. The targets included the Rosneft refinery in Ryazan, Lukoil in Kstovo, and Surgutneftegas in Kirishi. Russia claims that as many as 65 drones were used in the attack.
