Elderly passenger dies on board from Bangkok to Munich, Lufthansa flight rerouted
The passenger, a 63-year-old German national, was aboard the Bangkok to Munich flight on Thursday along with his wife, a Filipina. The man appeared to be in poor health, showing difficulties with breathing and excessive sweating. His wife stated that they had had to run to catch the plane.

However, the man started coughing up blood. His condition dramatically worsened following the flight's takeoff. As reported by the Swiss publication "Blick", blood gushed out of the man's nose, splattering the walls. The scene was terrifying, and it caused panic among the passengers, according to one witness.
Passenger dies mid-flight
The crew carried out resuscitation procedures to save the man for some time. However, the announcement of the passenger's death soon followed. The flight had to be redirected back to Bangkok.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the relatives of the deceased passenger. We would also like to apologize to the rest of the passengers for any distress caused by this incident. Please understand that we cannot share additional information due to privacy concerns," Lufthansa commented, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".
