How to take care of the oven?
Grease buildup and burnt residues are an unavoidable part of using an oven. To keep our appliance in good technical condition and our dishes aromatic, we must clean it regularly. High temperatures make residues hard to remove, and it becomes a most dreaded task. It doesn't have to be that way, as a simple wipe with a damp cloth and dish detergent after each use can prevent dirt from drying and accumulating.
When tackling old grime, avoid sharp tools or abrasive sponges that can damage the delicate surface. Opt for a cloth or a soft sponge, and for hard-to-reach places, a toothbrush or a cosmetic pad will do the job.
Homemade mixtures for oven dirt
To make your oven shine, you can use natural and inexpensive methods that will quickly remove streaks, stains, and burns. However, before every cleaning session, ensure it is no longer hot to avoid burns.
1. Cleaning paste. You can create this cleaner yourself for just a few pounds. Simply sprinkle baking soda on the glass or wall, then clean the surfaces with a halved lemon. Leave the mixture for up to 30 minutes to simplify wiping away the dirt. For better results, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid.
2. Cleaning spray. Fill a spray bottle with equal parts vinegar and water. Spray the entire interior with this solution and clean with a sponge. Finally, wipe the entire surface with a damp cloth.
3. Rolled aluminium foil can help remove stubborn dried stains. Apply some baking soda and squeezed lemon, then scrub in circular motions.
4. A dishwasher tablet can effectively clean the oven. Place the tablet on a tray and fill it halfway with hot water. Place the tray in a preheated oven at 100°C and leave it for 2 hours with the oven turned off. The heat will dissolve the tablet in the water, allowing you to easily wipe down everything with a damp cloth.
