The body, found in January, has been identified as 16-year-old Amanda Overstreet. The freezer contained the head and hands of the teenager. Investigators noted a bullet hole on the girl’s forehead. Preliminary findings indicate that the girl was shot and subsequently dismembered. This gruesome act appears to have been an execution.
The grisly discovery was made in 2023 by a man who had purchased a house in Grand Junction, Colorado. The buyer acquired the property from 55-year-old Leanne Imer. According to the "Daily Mail", the house was in a state of disrepair, having been unoccupied for a substantial period and requiring extensive renovation.
The new owner was in the process of cleaning out the house when he discovered a working freezer in the garage. Upon opening it, he found the remains of Amanda Overstreet. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has since launched an investigation into Amanda, who had been missing for several years. DNA tests have now confirmed her identity.
The 16-year-old was the daughter of the previous owner
Amanda Overstreet was last seen in April 2005. She was the daughter of the home's former owner and had been declared missing. Currently, investigators are exploring various leads in connection with her murder.
The mother of the 16-year-old insists that Amanda was on a road trip with her stepfather. She was reported missing during this trip. However, investigators are unable to directly verify Leanne Imer's account since Bradley Imer, Amanda Overstreet's stepfather, passed away in 2021 due to COVID-19.
