Students at Gordano School in Portishead, near Bristol in England, were injured as a result of being "crushed" in the gate of the institution. Social media footage shows students stepping over each other in an attempt to escape the trap. "Where are the teachers?" parents ask.

The video footage showing students of the English school trying to escape through the school gate has been widely shared on social media - reports "Daily Mail". The film shows young people screaming, trying to avoid being trampled and pulling each other out of the crowd. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon.

Parents are outraged. "Where are the teachers?"

A man, whose son was injured during the incident at the school gate, blames the teachers. The parent claims that entrances and exits should be supervised by the teachers. "When the gates are open (...) there are seven hundred students heading for one gate," he told the BBC. "Where are the teachers? Where are the teachers organizing the children?" questions the parent, adding that the school gate is not large.

Students were injured. The management explains

The school management explains that the chaos was caused by a delay in opening the gate - reports the BBC. "There was an incident at one of our exit gates. The gate was not opened on time before the end of the day. This led to an increased number of students trying to leave the school premises, which resulted in injuries to some of them," informed the school principal, Louise Blundell.

Staff immediately went to the scene, and several students visited the school's medical responder before going home. "This morning (on Tuesday), we checked the situation and also offered support to the students," added the principal.
