This phase of the machine's operation at the amusement park is meant to last only a moment. The rotating seats quickly return to their normal position. This time, thrill-seekers had to endure the uncomfortable situation for half an hour.

The carousel malfunction occurred on Friday afternoon. Seats on the carousel were almost completely sold out. Interestingly, it happened after a maintenance break, after which it was supposed to work flawlessly.
According to "NYP," participants of the ill-fated ride feared for their lives. Although their ordeal lasted only half an hour, it felt like an eternity for them. "I didn’t think I was going to live to see it right now," said one of the women who went through this ordeal.
People waited for intervention, hanging upside down the entire time. Park engineers, unable to find the cause of the malfunction and a quick way out of the predicament, called for the fire department's help.
The local fire department representatives said the device was manually lowered around 3:25 PM GMT, and all passengers were safely escorted. One person with pre-existing conditions was taken to a local hospital "out of an abundance of caution," Oaks Park management in Portland stated.
