More and more brides are choosing bridesmaids for their weddings. These individuals are most often the bride's friends, colleagues, sisters, or cousins. Sabrina Low was set to be a bridesmaid for her friend, but two weeks before the wedding, she was asked not to attend. Why? The answer will surprise many people.
She was to be a bridesmaid. Two weeks before the wedding, she received shocking news
Sabrina Low is a Brazilian influencer. Her Instagram profile is followed by over 87,000 people. In an interview with The Mirror, she discussed being asked to leave one of her friends' weddings.
The influencer was supposed to be a bridesmaid and excited about the event. She bought a beautiful dress that cost her over £245. She also paid for a hairstylist and makeup artist. But two weeks before the wedding, she received a message that changed everything.
"I was uninvited from a wedding because the bride worried my beauty would outshine hers. I invested money, time, and expectations in this event," she confessed.
She did not expect such behaviour
She was rejected because of her looks. She couldn't accept that this aspect could prevent her from participating in such an important event for her friend.
"I never thought something like my weight could be an issue in a situation like this. It was very hard to accept that my presence could be seen in such a negative light, especially by someone I considered a close friend," she explained.
Ultimately, the influencer did not attend the wedding. She later admitted that she did not expect such behaviour from someone so close.
"This [situation has] made me rethink a lot about true friendship."
She urged people not to judge anyone based on their appearance.
"It's amazing how people feel entitled to judge someone else's body without thinking about the impact it can have on someone's self-esteem," she added.
