Numerous explosions occurred in Beirut. The Israeli army has admitted to launching an offensive aimed at targeting the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah. "Dozens of people have probably died," reported Al Jazeera journalist Ali Hashem.

During the operation conducted by Israel on the southern suburbs of Beirut, several buildings were destroyed, causing massive damage in this part of the city. Al-Manar television, owned by Hezbollah, reported that 15 rockets levelled four buildings.

According to media reports, the Israeli army confirmed that the objective of the offensive was to target the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, which highlights Israel's determination to weaken the influence of this organisation in the region.

"In the Israeli raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut, several buildings were levelled, dozens of people have probably died," reported Al Jazeera journalist Ali Hashem.

Currently, there is no accurate information on the number of fatalities or those injured as a result of this tragic incident. According to Al Jazeera, citing the Lebanese Civil Defence Agency, two bodies were recovered from the rubble of the collapsed buildings.

The attack occurred after Netanyahu's appearance

Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari previously informed that the military carried out a "precision attack" on Hezbollah's headquarters in the capital of Lebanon. The attack took place shortly after the appearance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where he announced that his country would continue attacking Hezbollah until it achieves its war goals.

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu met with the media after his speech but left the press conference early after his press adviser approached him to deliver a message.
