Every year, we absorb an average of 1.8 kilogrammes of toxic substances. The result? Weight problems, permanent fatigue, lack of energy, and cold susceptibility. How can we support our bodies in the cleansing process? We can turn to drinks that we can easily prepare at home. Here are a few suggestions.

Water with lemon and mint

A simple, tasty, and refreshing drink, the regular consumption of which will help cleanse the liver and improve the body's overall functioning. Lemon aids digestion, and mint soothes the stomach and speeds up metabolism.

Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and a handful of mint leaves to water (roughly 1 litre). Mix well and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Before serving, you can add a few lemon slices. Drink in the morning on an empty stomach and throughout the day.

Kale smoothie

Kale is rich in vitamins and minerals. When combined with coconut water, which hydrates the body, and apples and bananas, which are rich in digestion-supporting fibre, it makes a delicious detox drink.

Place fresh kale (two handfuls), a sliced green apple, and a banana in a blender. Add coconut water (about 240 millilitres) and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Drink immediately after preparation.

Ginger tea with turmeric

Ginger and turmeric have potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which help cleanse the body of toxins and support the immune system. How to use them?

Boil water (about 470 millilitres), add freshly grated ginger (about a 2.5 cm piece) and turmeric (teaspoon), and simmer for about 10 minutes. Strain and enhance the brew with honey (tablespoon) and lemon juice. Drink the beverage warm.

Water with cucumber and basil

Cucumber acts as a diuretic, aiding in eliminating toxins, while basil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. How do you prepare a healthful and refreshing drink from them?

The task is simple. Slice the cucumber thinly, then add it to water (roughly 1 litre) along with a few basil leaves and lime slices. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours.

Beet and carrot smoothie

Beets support the liver and improve blood circulation, carrots provide the necessary beta-carotene to the body, and apples cleanse the digestive system. Using these ingredients, we can prepare an effective detox drink.

Peel a beet (medium-sized), two carrots, and an apple, and slice them into smaller pieces. Blend everything until smooth. Finally, add freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix well.

Pineapple and spinach smoothie

Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion, while spinach provides iron and other essential nutrients. How do you prepare a delicious smoothie from them?

Blend fresh pineapple (2-3 slices), spinach (a handful of fresh leaves), banana, and coconut water (about 240 millilitres) to obtain a smooth drink. Drink immediately after preparation.

Herbal cleansing tea

Our meadows are home to many plants with cleansing properties that support the kidneys and digestive system. When dried, these plants become an excellent base for a detoxifying beverage.

Combine horsetail (tablespoon), nettle (tablespoon), and chamomile (tablespoon) with boiling water, and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink the tea warm.

Aloe and citrus drink

Aloe is not just a plant for our windowsills. The gel inside its fleshy leaves soothes the digestive system, supports liver detoxification, and hydrates the body. It's worth using it to prepare a cleansing drink.

Trim a few aloe leaves (ideally from a plant at least three years old, as after this age, it reaches optimal nutritional value), remove the thorns, cut them into smaller pieces, and place them in the refrigerator for at least a day, preferably in a paper bag. Then, cut them open and scoop out the gel inside with a teaspoon, along with the juice. Blend half a cup of the pulp with the freshly squeezed juice of an orange and a lemon (one each), and drink water (about 240 millilitres) after chilling in the refrigerator.
