Aspirin: The secret to perfectly white towels
Just one tablet added to the laundry is sufficient to make towels impeccably white. Although baking soda and vinegar are tried and tested methods, this simple trick may prove even more effective. During the winter season, almost everyone has this tablet at home.
Towels absorb moisture, dead skin cells, and impurities from the skin. This promotes the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms that can negatively impact our health. According to Super Express, experts recommend washing towels at least every two weeks and face towels even daily.
Sparkling white towels without bleach
In the past, towels were boiled to effectively kill bacteria. Today, modern washing machines handle dirt very well. It is worth remembering, however, to avoid using fabric softeners, which make towels stiff and less absorbent. Instead, it's better to rely on proven home methods.
One of the lesser-known but very effective ways to restore towels to their pristine whiteness is using aspirin. Simply dissolve one tablet in water and add it to the laundry. Aspirin has whitening properties that help remove grey residue and stains, and additionally softens fabrics.
Another method for cleaner towels is using table salt. Simply add four tablespoons of salt to the washing machine drum and set the appropriate wash cycle. Salt softens fabrics, neutralises unpleasant odours, and removes stains. Additionally, it protects colours.
