Recipe for apple tart with pears

The cake with pears is a unique pastry that combines simplicity and an unforgettable flavour. Below, you will find the exact recipe that will allow you to create a cake that melts in your mouth and will surely satisfy all household members.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large pears,
  • 400g all-purpose flour,
  • 150g sugar,
  • 3 eggs,
  • 115g butter,
  • 120ml milk,
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder,
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • powdered sugar for dusting.

Preparation:

  1. Preparing the pears: First, wash the pears thoroughly, then peel them. Remove the seeds and cut the fruit into thin slices. The pears should be ripe but also firm enough to hold their structure during baking.
  2. Preparing the cake batter: In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until fluffy and light. This is a crucial step because well-beaten eggs will make the cake light and delicate. Next, add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until combined into a uniform batter.
  3. Adding dry ingredients: To the wet ingredients, add the sifted flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gently mix everything, preferably with a spatula or wooden spoon, to keep the batter fluffy.
  4. Forming the cake: Pour the prepared batter into a round baking pan, about 22cm in diameter, lined with parchment paper. Arrange the pear slices on top, gently pressing them into the batter. Ensure the fruit is evenly distributed – this will give the cake an ideal texture and flavour in every piece.
  5. Baking: Place the cake in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 40-45 minutes. To check if the cake is ready, perform the toothpick test – if it comes out clean when inserted into the centre of the cake, it's done.
  6. Decoration: After baking, cool the cake on a rack, and before serving, dust it lightly with powdered sugar. This addition will make the cake not only look more appetising but also add extra sweetness.

Tips:

  • Type of pears: Firm pears like Conference are best for this apple tart.
  • Pan: You can use a round or square baking pan.
  • Additions: You can add your favourite spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom to the cake.
  • Serving: The apple tart can be served warm or cold, with ice cream or whipped cream on the side.
