In his Wednesday video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasised that before signing the agreement with the USA on the partnership in utilising Ukrainian natural deposits, he expects security guarantees for his country. Zelensky also confirmed his visit to Washington, scheduled for this upcoming Friday.

- Guarantees of peace and security are key to preventing Russia from destroying the lives of other nations – emphasised the President of Ukraine.

- It is important for me and everyone around the world that America's help does not cease – he added.

USA-Ukraine agreement

The full version of the document has already appeared online. It envisages the creation of a Reconstruction Fund, which aims to support the country's rebuilding and stabilise its economy. The fund will be mainly financed from revenues derived from Ukrainian natural resources, such as oil, gas, and minerals, 50% of which will go to the fund. Additionally, financial support from the USA is planned in the form of funds and financial instruments.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump told journalists that he heard Zelensky is coming to the White House on Friday, hoping that the agreement will be signed. However, Trump did not say that Zelensky has been formally invited.

- It is expected that his arrival aims to acknowledge the final position (on the agreement) - an official is quoted by the agency, referring to Zelensky's statements. The source emphasises, however, that judging from Zelensky's words, he himself does not yet have a "final position" on this matter.
