Not ironing your underwear is a major mistake
For some, the notion of not ironing their underwear haunts their peaceful sleep. For others, it's the ideal method to not just look after their clothes, but also take a relaxing break from the day-to-day issues. Additionally, who doesn't like neatly arranged, fragrant, and importantly, ironed clothes in their wardrobe?
However, many people only consider ironing specific clothing items. But have you ever considered ironing your underwear? Unfortunately, few people decide to do this. This overlooked routine could have implications for our health.
Exposure to high temperatures can help eradicate any residual moisture in the fabric, which, when in contact with the skin, often triggers fungicidal or bacterial infections.
Also, when washing underwear at a low temperature, the detergents might not fully dissolve in the water and may linger on the fabric. Ironing not only accelerates the detergent's evaporation but also minimises the risk of irritation in sensitive areas.
Review before you start ironing
In our wardrobes, we find various types of underwear. The ideal choice is ones made from natural fabrics that allow our skin to breathe. But sometimes, we may also be tempted by less practical, albeit very eye-catching designs, which could be harmed during ironing.
This is why it's critical to check the ironing guidelines before you heat up your iron. More often than not, this information can be found on the tags attached to the underwear.
If these tags were removed earlier and if the fabric seems delicate, it's advised to refrain from ironing the item.
