  • about 180g of flour,
  • 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • about 80g of sugar,
  • 3 eggs,
  • about 60ml of oil,
  • about 90ml of milk,
  • a small jar of your favourite jam,
  • powdered sugar/icing/chocolate glaze/almonds/crumble/fresh fruit for decoration.
  1. Begin by blending eggs with sugar.
  2. Once the mixture is fluffy and even, gradually mix in milk and oil.
  3. Next, incorporate dry ingredients — flour and baking powder, having sifted the flour beforehand to ensure the cake turns out even fluffier after baking.
  4. Part of the batter should be layered in the bottom of the baking pan. Drop dollops of your preferred jam across it, and use a wooden stick or a spoon to evenly spread the jam over the pan's surface.
  5. Cover the jam with the remaining batter and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
  6. Once baked, decorate your cake with powdered sugar, homemade icing, chocolate glaze, crumble, toasted almonds, or fresh fruit.
