WhatsApp's new events feature poised to enhance planning

The creators of WhatsApp are not slowing down and are preparing more new features that will be available to users in the coming weeks and months. One of these features, which some users can already test in beta trials, is the option to create individual events in chats.

The service WABetaInfo points out that the events recently introduced to WhatsApp, which can be created within communities, will eventually also function in individual chats. For users, this will mean the ability to create events within conversations, allowing for better planning with a specific contact on WhatsApp.

An example given is a conversation between a student and a tutor, who can use WhatsApp events to plan their activities more easily. In practice, the conversation elements will function similarly to shared calendars, except that combining events with the conversation could be more readable - the entire communication will be contained within one window in WhatsApp.

At the moment, the new option is not yet available for regular users. Tests are ongoing within the beta programme and are limited in availability.

However, from experience, we know that such a stage is a harbinger of the relatively soon release of a new feature to users. It’s hard to state specific dates, but it can be speculated that it will be a matter of the coming months at most.
