Shocking scenes unfolded over the past weekend in Canada. Left-winger Vincent Arseneau suffered a severe injury following an altercation with Syracuse Crunch player Kale Kessy.
The referees had to separate the players before they toppled onto the ice. Upon intervention, it was revealed that one of Arseneau's fingers was bent unnaturally.
Without losing his composure, the 32-year-old Canadian adjusted his finger while heading to the penalty box. Despite attempts to return to the action, he didn't manage to get back on the ice. His team ultimately triumphed with a 5-2 win.
Arseneau also missed Saturday's rematch between the teams, in which the Laval Rocket claimed a 1-0 victory. The event sparked significant reactions on social media.
On the X platform, one fan wrote: "This is a real hockey player." Another added, "Say you're a hockey player without saying you're a hockey player." A different comment read: "I didn't need to see that."
His finger bent. What about his health?
The Laval Rocket are preparing for their upcoming weekend matches. They will face the Utica Comets at home on Friday, followed by an away game the next day. It remains uncertain whether Arseneau will return to the ice for these matches.
