Actor Lino Banfi shared details at a press conference regarding the unique audience that will be taking place in St. Peter's Square this Saturday. The "Tenderness and Laughter" event will highlight the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren. "Participants in this weekend's Vatican event will refer to the pope as 'the world's grandfather'," the event organizers announced.

According to initial estimates, around 6,000 people are expected to attend. The organisers shared that the meeting aims to reinforce the connection between grandparents and grandchildren and underscore the vital role that older individuals play in society.

Our research showed that the value of time spent with grandparents is immeasurable. What grandparents provide for their grandchildren is estimated at around £33 billion. This proves how misguided it is to consider interactions with the elderly as time wasted. On the contrary, they are a remarkable asset, representing an age group that still has much to contribute, including a legacy of faith - the organizers encourage.

Italian writers and artists, who are also grandparents, have been invited to the event.

Together with their grandchildren, they will share their stories right before the Pope gives his speech. Following this, Pope Francis will address questions posed to him.

Mario Marazziti, one of the participating Italian writers, noted that such a gathering serves to mend intergenerational rifts.
