The Vatican is one of the most visited places in Europe by tourists. Now, visitors will have an extraordinary opportunity to pass through the doors of temples that are usually closed. Such an opportunity occurs once every 25 years.

On the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025, the Pope will open four basilicas to visitors. Those interested must register in advance.

The Holy Year has been celebrated regularly since 1300. Initially, the celebrations took place every 100 years, but they occur every 25 years.

The celebrations of the Jubilee Year 2025 will commence at the end of this year in Rome. On 24 December at 10:30 AM, the Holy Doors at St. Peter's Basilica will be opened.

On Sunday, 29 December, Francis will open the Holy Doors at St. John Lateran Basilica, and on 1 January 2025, at the Basilica of St. Mary Major (also known as Our Lady of the Snows). Meanwhile, on 5 January, the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls will be opened.

However, you must register in advance. Electronic registration has already been launched. On the website, you must book the day and time of your visit to the selected basilica. Each of the mentioned temples requires a separate registration.
