Did Putin want to attack NATO? A plan leaked
Meanwhile, the threat from Russia does not diminish. NATO sources have just provided the Finnish daily with materials on Russia's prepared plans to attack the eastern flank of the Alliance. Putin plans to create a buffer zone in Finland and Norway. This scenario has already been rehearsed during military manoeuvres.
— In 2017, Russia practised an attack on Norway, Finland, and the Baltic countries during the Zapad manoeuvres. The Russians have not abandoned their plan; they intend to execute it after the war in Ukraine ends. According to our information, the plan still exists, and the Russians have not abandoned their intention to carry it out," one of the NATO sources told the Finnish daily "Iltalehti."
