How to reheat cutlets?
Reheating cutlets might seem straightforward, yet many people lose their appetite at the thought of leftover pork chops. One of the biggest mistakes is reheating cutlets in the microwave. Although it's a quick solution, it transforms the cutlet into an unappetising sole.
It's much better to reheat them in the oven. Line an ovenproof dish with parchment paper and place the cutlets inside. Wrap them with aluminium foil - this way, the cutlets won't dry out and will retain their juiciness. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius and put the dish with the cutlets inside. After 15 minutes, you can take them out and enjoy warm, tasty meat.
If the cutlets are very dry before reheating, spray them with a little water or broth before heating.
Frying cutlets
Those who love crispy coatings can refry cutlets in a pan. Use a non-stick pan and a minimal amount of fat, like a bit of rapeseed oil. Fry the cutlets on low heat for about 5 minutes on each side. This method keeps the coating crispy and the meat juicy. Avoid over-frying to prevent drying out the cutlets.
Reheated cutlets can become the base of many delicious and varied meals. Add them to wraps, place them on bread and bake with cheese, or include them in a casserole. And if you don't have time to reheat ground meat, turn it into a snack reminiscent of childhood. A forgotten trick will immediately bring a smile to the faces of not only the youngest household members.
