During the past weekend, "Under Paris" returned to the top five most popular Netflix films. Interest in French production remains strong, possibly influenced by the Olympics, and everything indicates that it will become the biggest non-English hit in the platform's history.

One of the critics from "Decider" wrote on the day of the premiere of "Under Paris" that this movie is so bad, it's good and if we turn a blind eye to the lack of logic and the irrational behaviour of the characters, we can have a good time. The underwater scenes are impressive and keep you on the edge of your seat. However, jokingly the critic did not recommend showing the film to Emmanuel Macron, so the President wouldn't have another reason to worry before Olympic Games in Paris.

As it turned out, the Netflix production somewhat predicted the troubles of the Olympic organisers. Although there were no sharks in the Seine, the men's triathlon scheduled for 30 July had to be postponed due to excessive river pollution that day.

Let's recall that during its premiere weekend, "Under Paris" recorded as many as 41 million views worldwide. The French thriller achieved one of the best results in the streaming platform's history, outclassing this year's competition, including much more expensive American productions.

Almost two months have passed since the film's premiere, and "Under Paris" still ranks high on Netflix's list of most popular titles in many countries. Moreover, interest in the movie has increased with the start of the Olympic Games in Paris. During the past week, the French production recorded 2 million views and is well on its way to becoming the biggest non-English hit in the platform's history. It is only 8 million views away from the leader from Norway.

1. "Troll" (2022) – 103 million views.

2. "Society of the Snow" (2023) – 98.5 million views.

3. "Under Paris" (2024) – 95.1 million views.
