The UN Security Council will hold an extraordinary session on Sunday regarding the attack by Iran on Israel.

Overnight from Saturday to Sunday, Iran launched over 300 drones and ballistic missiles at Israel.

Israel immediately approached the UN Security Council to call for an extraordinary session to condemn the attack by Iran and designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

"The Iranian attack is a serious threat to global peace and security and I expect the Council to use every means to take concrete action against Iran," wrote the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, appealing for the convening of the session.

The UN Security Council meeting will take place at 9:00 PM GMT.

The EU and Western countries, including Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, as well as UN Secretary-General António Guterres, condemned the unprecedented attack by Iran on Israel. In their statements, they highlighted the potential to destabilize the entire region. Guterres called for restraint and an immediate cessation of hostilities.

On Sunday in the early afternoon, G7 leaders will also have a video call to discuss the Iranian attack.
