Ukrainian forces strike back in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, vow no hiding for occupiers
The Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Gen. Oleksandr Syrskii, informed that on Sunday, "two enemy personnel concentrations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were attacked." "The occupiers will not hide," he added.
Gen. Syrskii's statement was published on Sunday evening. "We track and strike. Today, two raids were conducted on enemy personnel concentrations in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions," he wrote on Telegram.
"They will not hide"
The Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that "the occupiers will not hide." The statement did not specify how many Russians were killed in the attack.
Earlier that same day, Syrskii said that the front situation had worsened, and Russian troops "are actively attacking along the entire front line, achieving tactical successes in some directions."
Ukrainians have retreated
The most intense fighting is ongoing, among other places, in the direction of Kupiansk in the eastern part of the country, where Russian forces "achieved partial successes but were stopped," Gen. Syrskii wrote on Telegram.
In the direction of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, Russian troops are starting an offensive aimed at capturing the town of Chasiv Yar; however, "the most complicated situation" is occurring in the area of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, where "fierce fighting is ongoing," he added.
The general stated that Ukrainian forces have retreated to new positions west of the villages of Berdychi and Semenivka, as well as Novomykhailivka, and that "to strengthen the defences on these sections, units that have suffered losses are being replaced with units capable of combat." The commander of the armed forces also reported a "tense situation" in the south of the country but did not provide details.
