Ukrainian armed forces shot down a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle, the Zala Z-20, in the Sumy region. It is one of the better drones in Vladimir Putin’s army. It is powered by an electric motor, allowing the aircraft to stay in the air for over 6 hours, transmitting HD images over 100 kilometres from the control point.

Unmanned aerial vehicles of various types have become a daily reality of the war in Ukraine, where FPV drones and bombers referred to as "Baba Yaga" are particularly feared.

Recently, Ukrainians have boasted a series of effective enemy drone shootdowns. According to regularly published reports by the local armed forces, the defenders usually hit all or almost all drones launched by Russians in their direction.

According to the latest information, Ukrainian armed forces shot down a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle, the Zala Z-20, in the Sumy region.

The Zala Z-20 is powered by an electric motor, allowing the aircraft to stay in the air for over 6 hours and transmit HD images over 100 kilometres from the control point. The unmanned system is used for reconnaissance and observation of objects of interest.

The Zala Z-20 is equipped with an onboard computer using modern artificial intelligence algorithms. This computer allows it to make necessary decisions quickly, increasing its work efficiency.

Full compatibility with the Z-16 model's ground equipment, including the launcher and load, is a significant advantage that allows for reduced costs of upgrading existing drones.

The new model features increased payload capacity, allowing additional loads to be mounted depending on the task at hand for the UAV operator. Moreover, ZALA company states that the machine is extremely resistant to radio interference and features a low acoustic signature.
