The Ukrainian military uses HIMARS launchers to attack Russian territory, reports "The Telegraph." Kyiv does not comment on the matter.

"The Russian Ministry of Defense and Russian military bloggers report that the HIMARS were fired by Ukraine in Russia on Saturday evening," reports "The Telegraph." This would mean that the Ukrainians started the shelling just one day after receiving U.S. permission.

According to Russian sources, around ten missiles launched from HIMARS were intercepted over the Belgorod region. There were, among other things, photos of rocket debris.

The British newspaper emphasizes that Kyiv has not commented on the reports yet. The Unian agency assesses that Ukrainians in this situation choose "silence mode."

Green light from the USA

On 31 May, the United States permitted for Ukraine to use American weapons to attack targets on Russian territory. The U.S. reacted this way to the events in the Kharkiv region, where the Russians initiated an operation.

The lifting of the ban, however, has limitations. Ukrainians can only attack targets near the Kharkiv region's border. Outside the range are, for example, bombers stationed deep within Russia.
