Ukraine escalates conflict with drone strikes on Russian air bases
At night, Ukrainian drones attacked Russia again. Explosions were heard in several regions. Russians claim that near Morozovsk in the Rostov region, they shot down 44 Ukrainian drones. There likely were more. Kyiv claims that at the air base in this city, it destroyed and damaged several planes.

On Friday, the Ukrinform agency and the Ukrainska Pravda service reported that Ukraine attacked the air base in Morozovsk in the Rostov region of Russia. According to sources in the SBU, at least six planes were destroyed, and another eight were seriously damaged.
The operation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the military, it was reported. About 20 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in the attack.
The airport housed Su-24, Su-24M, and Su-34 planes, which are used to attack Ukrainian troops and nearby front-line cities - the agency noted.
Ukrinform source claimed that special operations will considerably lower the Russian's combat capacity.
Attack on the airport in Yeysk and the Engels base
The Ministry of Defense in Moscow reported on Friday morning about a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones on several Russian regions. The authorities of the Rostov region conveyed that above Morozovsk, 44 drones were shot down. As a result of the attack, a power station was reportedly damaged, leading to power supply disruptions.
The Ria Novosti agency, citing reports from the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, reported that one of the drones fell near the airport in Morozovsk. The drone exploded when a "crime scene investigating team" approached it. Eight people were reported to be wounded.
According to information shared by residents of Russia on Telegram, drones also targeted a military airport in Yeysk and the Engels base at night. The outcomes of these attacks are not yet known.
