UK and US aid to Ukraine sparks Kremlin backlash, heightens tensions

"This will further ruin Ukraine, causing more deaths of Ukrainians due to the regime in Kyiv," Dmitri Peskov stated, commenting on the decision of the USA to grant aid to Ukraine.

Many reports by Russian media or representatives of the authorities are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

The House of Representatives in the USA voted on Saturday for an aid package for Ukraine worth nearly £49 billion. The vote signifies the end of a months-long deadlock in the House and paves the way for the resumption of support for Ukraine next week. The bill will now go to the Senate, where it is expected to be voted on next week.

"The decision caused hysteria in Russia," we read in "Ukrainian Truth".

Peskov threatens the USA

Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitri Peskov, said that the aid approved by the House of Representatives for Ukraine "will cause more deaths of Ukrainians," will enrich the United States, and also threatened that the United States will have to answer for the confiscation of frozen assets of the Russian Federation. "We will do it in a way that best suits our interests," he said.

Leading Kremlin propagandist Maria Zakharova said, in turn, that the aid approved by the House of Representatives in the USA for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan "will intensify the phenomena of world crisis." She stated that "military assistance to the regime in Kyiv means direct sponsorship of terrorist acts".
