Former President Donald Trump stirred controversy by posting a video on social media on Friday, which included a distressing image of President Joe Biden tied up and immobilized on the back of a pickup truck.
The 20-second clip, allegedly recorded on Thursday in Long Island, New York, showcases a truck bearing the "Trump 2024" slogan alongside a large image depicting Biden bound and lying on his side.
Michael Tyler, Joe Biden's campaign communications director, expressed concern that the contentious image, emblazoned with symbols of Trump's 2024 campaign, might hint at physical violence against Biden, a political adversary of the ex-president.
"Trump regularly calls for political violence, and people take it seriously," Tyler remarked, recalling the January 6, 2021, incident when Trump's supporters stormed the Congress in a bid to challenge the democratic process.
In contrast, Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, countered, claiming, "Democrats and extremists not only advocate violence against President Trump and his family but also weaponize the judicial system against him."
Cheung's comments referenced the myriad of over 80 criminal charges facing Trump. These include allegations of attempting to reverse Biden's 2020 election win, improperly handling classified documents post-presidency, and undisclosed payments.
