Former U.S. President Donald Trump spoke critically about Vice President Kamala Harris's strategy to reduce prices. During a rally in Pennsylvania, he described it as "full communist", predicting that it would lead to hunger and rationing.
"In her speech yesterday, Kamala went full communist. You heard that, she went full communist. She wants to destroy our country after causing catastrophic inflation. Comrade Kamala announced that she wants to institute socialist price controls. You saw that never worked before. Never ever worked," Trump declared at a meeting in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
He expressed negativity about Harris's proposals regarding "the first ever federal ban on price gouging on food," which he defined as ineffective and leading to rationing.
Criticising Harris's ideas, Trump also pointed out her proposal to impose penalties on companies exploiting crises to raise prices. Although these ideas may seem tempting, the former president is convinced they will not work in practice.
In the latter part of his speech, he also criticised his proposal to introduce universal tariffs on imported goods, saying that tariffs do not negatively affect consumers, contrary to Harris's opinion.
Trump more attractive than Kamala Harris?
Moreover, Trump reacted to comments by journalist Peggy Noonan, who wrote in an article that one of Kamala Harris's strengths is the fact that "she is a beautiful woman." "I am much better looking than her. I'm a better looking person than Kamala," Trump said.
In a conversation with Elon Musk, the former president recently admitted that Harris is a "beautiful woman." However, commenting on her portrait on the cover of "Time" magazine, he stated that the drawing does not resemble her but reminds him of his wife, Melania.
Pennsylvania, where Trump gave his speech, will play a crucial role in the upcoming elections. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz plan to travel through this state, and studies show that both candidates enjoy a similar level of support there.
