Trump accuses DOJ of political meddling at Wisconsin rally
- The Harris and Biden Department of Justice is trying to put me in prison - stated Donald Trump. The former US president participated in a pre-election rally in Wisconsin on Saturday. He repeatedly lamented that the prosecutor's office was trying to prevent him from running in the November election.

Observers point out that the pre-election rally in the town of Mosinee, Wisconsin, took place a few days before the announced first, and probably only, debate with his competitor in the race for the White House, sitting vice president Kamala Harris.
Trump appeared before his supporters behind bulletproof glass, as a consequence of the attack on 13 July during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was slightly injured.
- The Harris and Biden Department of Justice is trying to put me in prison - they want me behind bars for a crime of exposing their corruption - accused his political opponents, the former US president.
The AP agency emphasises in this context that there is no evidence that President Biden or Vice President Harris had any influence on the decisions of the Department of Justice or local jurisdictions regarding the indictment of Trump.
It also recalls that the Republican candidate spoke a day after he appeared in court in connection with an appeal against the decision holding him responsible for sexual harassment.
A few hours later, a judge from Manhattan announced that the verdict in his bribery case was postponed until after the elections. The verdict was previously scheduled for 18 September.
Trump on the "banana republic"
During the rally in Mosinee, Trump again criticised his Democratic rival. According to him, if - as he put it - "comrade Kamala Harris" becomes the president of the USA, the country will turn in every sense of the word into a "banana republic" ruled by anarchy.
He also criticised the Biden administration's immigration policy, calling the Democrats' approach to migration issues "suicidal".
