A triple murder in the peaceful town of Bushey in Hertfordshire has shaken Britain. Twenty-six-year-old Kyle Clifford, a former soldier, is suspected of tying up and then shooting three women with a crossbow: 61-year-old Carol Hunt, the wife of BBC star John Hunt, and two (out of three) daughters of the couple: 25-year-old Louise and 28-year-old Hannah.

According to local media, Clifford was Louise’s ex-boyfriend who could not cope with rejection. The man fled the scene but was caught by police after a 24-hour manhunt. He was hiding among the gravestones at a cemetery in Enfield.

The 26-year-old was injured, and the latest reports indicate that he tried to shoot himself with the crossbow. He is currently in hospital.

Triple crime in Britain: new information

As "The Sun" describes, on 9 July, the day the dramatic events unfolded, locals in the usually quiet neighbourhood heard disturbing screams around 18:00.

It turns out the women tried to save their lives. It is known that one of the victims managed to call the police before her death.

Meanwhile, "The Guardian" reports that another woman sent a desperate text message to her partner, asking for help and warning him to call the emergency number.

Initial media reports indicated that John Hunt discovered his wife and daughters' bodies upon returning home. According to "The Sun", it is now accepted that the journalist found out about the tragedy while returning from work at Lingfield Park.

Just a few days before the tragic events, Louise posted on social media about women who end abusive relationships. She stated, among other things, that she "admires women who leave," regardless of whether they do so "the first or the twelfth time."

It takes a lot of self-love to choose yourself, concluded the young woman.
