Rice water, remaining after cooking rice, is rich in vitamins and proteins, which can be great for hair care. By using it as a rinse, you'll quickly notice your hair is shinier and has more volume.

Rice water for hair - how does it work?

You can prepare a rice rinse very quickly. It's best to use jasmine or brown rice. Cooking it without salt yields water with a milky tint, a sign of its nutritional value. It can be used after straining the rice. Dilute it with water, using a few tablespoons of rice water per cup.

Pour this prepared solution over your hair after washing. You'll soon notice that your hair becomes stronger, healthier, and gains a beautiful shine. Additionally, rice water serves excellently as a facial toner. It helps lighten discolouration, adds radiance to the skin, firms it, and smooths it, reducing the visibility of pores.

Do you pour out the water after cooking potatoes or pasta?

On the other hand, the water left after cooking potatoes is perfect for homemade baths. The starch in this water nourishes and smooths the skin, which is particularly useful for those dealing with rough skin, for example on elbows or knees. Just add a little to your bath.

Let's not forget about pasta water, which makes a great base for a hair conditioner. After washing your hair, it's worth soaking it, applying your favourite mask, and then rinsing. Such treatments will help hair (thanks to the starch) better absorb nutrients, making it soft to the touch.
