The French estimate that up to 15 million tourists will arrive in their country during the Olympic Games. The largest group, of course, will be domestic tourists, but there will also be many people of other nationalities. To avoid fines, they need to know about one specific rule.

Millions of guests will flock to Paris during this year's Olympic Games. These will be avid sports fans and tourists who want to visit the temporary venues and the city, which will be bustling around the clock during the games.

Ban in France

The Scottish newspaper "Daily Record" highlighted an important regulation, which can be quite costly if violated during the games in France.

As "Daily Record" emphasises, many Britons who will also visit Paris during the Olympics smoke cigarettes. Some Poles have also not yet freed themselves from this habit, so to avoid a hefty fine, they should remember the ban in France.

— Since the Olympic Games attract many international guests to France, tourists should be aware of the strict anti-smoking regulations in this country. Smoking in public places where it is prohibited, such as restaurants, public transport, stations, or the metro, can result in a fine ranging from €68 to €150 (£59 to £129)— we read in the foreign press.

Additionally, littering in public places can result in a fine of €68 (£59).

Enforcing regulations

Abiding by the regulations is important to avoid the costs of paying fines imposed by officers and show respect for the place and the event.
