Regular cleaning in the kitchen is important not only for aesthetic reasons but also for health. If we neglect cleanliness, food remnants or crumbs could attract insects to the kitchen. A clogged drain will, in turn, make it impossible for us to wash dishes, and the resulting smell is certainly unpleasant.

Hazel Mckinnie and Claire Jenkins are a well-known TikTok duo who share tips for quick and thorough cleaning with internet users. Hazel and Claire run a cleaning company, so they know a lot about methods for keeping a home clean and sparkling. Their account on the mentioned social media platform, @theweescottycleaners, is followed by nearly 100,000 users. The experts recently addressed a certain overlooked spot in the kitchen that also needs regular cleaning.

Clean the sink thoroughly. Here's the experts' advice

Although the sink initially looked clean, TikTok users saw the grime after lifting the plug. Few people realise that food particles can accumulate in this spot.

- You will be shocked when you see what’s inside - warned one of the experts, whose voice can be heard in the video.

Hazel and Claire suggested using a metal strainer to lift the drain plug, which served as a "key." After unscrewing the mentioned part, it’s evident how much debris is inside!

The cleaning experts also highlighted the importance of placing a bowl under the sink pipes, as when rinsing with water, some fluid may leak during the cleaning process. Then, we clean the inside of the drain using cleaning solutions available in our home.
