During international trips, tourists love to try local delicacies. When in France, it is almost sacrilegious not to taste a fresh croissant. However, many tourists make a significant mistake when eating it.

Alessia Brenti is a young internet star known as "Aqualessia". On social media, she stands out not only because of her young age but also for the remarkable underwater projects she undertakes with her Aquateam crew.

She also shares humorous videos translating various words and phrases into French on her profiles. One of her recent videos focused on France, specifically on the local delicacy - the croissant.

How to eat croissants

The teenager began her video by attempting to eat a croissant with a knife and fork. "What are you doing? That's not how you eat a croissant!" Alessia exclaimed, playing the role of a bemused observer.

Next, playing the part of a tourist trying to eat a French croissant, she tried to bite into it directly. It turns out that this way of eating a croissant is also a faux pas. So, how should one eat this delicacy? You should tear off small pieces and only then put them in your mouth - the teenager instructed.

French delicacy

A croissant is a popular Parisian pastry made from puff pastry shaped into a crescent. Traditionally, it is without filling, although nowadays, you can find croissants filled with chocolate, various jams, creams, and even glazes and sprinkles.

The first official recipe for croissants dates back to 1839. It is believed that the author is August Zang, the owner of a Viennese bakery on rue de Richelieu in Paris.
