The choice of indoor footwear depends on many factors. This includes our taste, the region we were raised in, and the temperatures of the given season. For instance, many people opt for thick slippers in the winter that keep their feet warm. In the summer, most people choose house shoes with open toes. Some individuals swear by walking around the house barefoot. But is this good for your health? Discover which shoes are ideal to wear around the house.

What shoes to wear at home?

Many people are fans of flip-flops and traditional slippers. Some wear flip-flops at home, and others choose house shoes with a slight heel. Many people wonder which shoes to wear so that their feet can truly rest. Above all, indoor shoes must be comfortable. It also makes no sense to buy too small slippers, house shoes, or mules, even if they are exceptionally pretty or fashionable.

Unfortunately, many people still purchase small slippers because that size is available or on sale. Such individuals often convince themselves that, after all, they are just shoes for the house. Yet, feet need to have the opportunity to rest fully at home. But are there shoes that are considered the healthiest?

What are the healthiest slippers?

House shoes must be comfortable and made from non-toxic, non-plastic materials. Otherwise, your feet will sweat, and the flip-flops quickly emit an unpleasant smell. Therefore, choose natural materials that allow your feet to breathe. It's important that your slippers also have a non-slip sole. This way, you can avoid an accident on slippery laminate floors or tiles.

Some orthopedists recommend that people with spine problems choose house slippers with a light heel. But that's not all. When choosing the best indoor shoes, the sole must be watched. If it is worn out and used, the shoe will have an uneven instep, so a new pair must be bought.

Is it good to walk barefoot at home?

It turns out that walking around the house barefoot is not recommended. Of course, many experts suggest moving without shoes occasionally, but this does not apply to the home environment. The reason is the hard surfaces we have at home. On the pages of "time.com," Doctor Priya Parthasarathy spoke about this issue. The expert believes that home floorings are not beneficial for our bare feet. Walking on them without shoes deprives us of certain support.

It turns out that walking for a long time barefoot at home exposes us to numerous injuries or even the formation of various inflammations. Remember that bare feet are also exposed to glass shards or other dangers to the foot surface. And what shoes do you wear around the house?
