The "Halo" series was born with difficulty. After years of efforts to create a feature film based on Microsoft's iconic game series of the same name, Showtime took over the project in 2014 and began working on the series. However, nothing more than a script was produced in seven years, which was changed when "Halo" was moved to Paramount+. It was only then that filming for the series began.
The first season of "Halo" received mixed reviews but enjoyed great popularity on the streaming platform.
The second season of "Halo" appeared on streaming platforms in early February this year (Greenwich Time). The series was reported to have high viewership, and viewers expected a third season. Less than six months later, they discovered the series had been cancelled. Fans were outraged. They did not understand this decision. "Halo was a hit, a flagship production, and the characters' stories were not concluded.
The issue became clearer after the series producers released a statement: "We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their cooperation in providing our expansive science fiction universe to viewers worldwide. We deeply thank the millions of fans who ensured the worldwide success of the 'Halo' series. We inform you that we remain committed to expanding the 'Halo' universe in various ways in the future."
Thus, the project will continue but with the collaboration of another production company and a different platform. The series' creators promise that the third season of "Halo" will be their first priority.
