In France, authorities have arrested a 26-year-old resident of Donbas with Ukrainian and Russian citizenship. The man had an explosive device in his hotel room. The prosecution informed that as a result of the explosion, he sustained significant burns. The 26-year-old was transported to the hospital.

At the beginning of this week, French police arrested a 26-year-old man from Donbas of Ukrainian and Russian nationality, who had explosives in a hotel near Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

As reported by the anti-terrorist prosecutor's office (PNAT), just before the arrest, the device exploded, causing the 26-year-old to sustain "serious burns." After receiving assistance from firefighters, he was transported to the hospital.

Sources from BFMTV assessed that the device was likely made using an old method involving connecting to a phone and activating it via a phone signal.

Meanwhile, Reuters, citing its sources within French services, reported that the anti-terrorist prosecutor's office has taken over the case and initiated a investigation "into the man, who is suspected of participation in a terrorist conspiracy and bomb plot."

The agency reports that the French intelligence agency is also expected to be involved in the investigation. According to BFMTV's findings, the man attempted to produce the explosive device by himself.

Because the Olympic Games are approaching in Paris, the country's authorities raised the terrorist threat level to the highest level in March of this year.
