The unwanted smell that emanates from the inside of shoes results from the accumulation of sweat and bacteria. When feet are enclosed in shoes for a long time, they release moisture, which absorbs into the material. Combined with warm temperatures, this creates an ideal environment for the growth of bacteria and microorganisms. As a result, there is an unpleasant shoe odour that can also transfer to feet.

Tea will refresh the inside of shoes

Herbs have a remarkable ability to absorb odours. People who struggle with unpleasant smells coming from their shoes can effectively solve this problem with tea. How do you do it?

To get rid of the bad smell from shoes, simply place a dry tea bag (preferably fruity) in each shoe and leave it overnight. By the next day, your shoes should smell fresh and pleasant.

If the problem is more persistent, this procedure should be repeated for several days until the issue is completely resolved. It's important to regularly replace the tea bags to ensure the maximum refreshing effect.

How to care for shoes to keep them fresh longer?

Besides using tea as an odour absorber, it's also crucial to ensure proper ventilation of footwear. After each wear, it's worth placing shoes in a well-ventilated area so they can "breathe". Regular washing and drying of insoles may prove crucial.

It's important to thoroughly clean both the inside and outside of the shoes. Shoes made of eco-leather and leather are easy to keep clean. Just a lightly dampened cloth and a little soap are enough to wash them. For sports shoes, you can use washing-up liquid. Just add 2-3 drops of the liquid to warm water, soak a cloth in it, and rub until the desired effect is achieved.

Choosing the right socks is equally important. It's best to opt for those made from natural materials, as they ventilate the foot well and limit perspiration. This way, you avoid moisture, and your shoes will stay fresh longer.
