Between Friday evening and Saturday morning, drones were spotted over secured sites in Sweden, including the Barsebäck nuclear power plant and Malmö airport. Similar reports emerged from Svedala and Ystad, where a strategic port is located.

The Swedish Armed Forces, alongside the police, are looking into the matter, as reported by TV4 Nyheterna.

The investigation aims to determine if a foreign state, notably Russia, is involved. "We'll first analyze the issue, then draw our conclusions," mentioned a local police spokesperson.

Sara Andersson has stated that a report regarding the violation of both the security and aviation acts has been filed.

Sweden's NATO membership: Does it increase the threat level?

Magnus Christiansson, of the Swedish Defense University, provided insight into the incident, linking it to Sweden's possible NATO membership. He pointed out the threat stemming from international politics, as reported by SVT Nyheter.

"This might be the most cost-effective and simplest method to spread fear and draw attention following the (Sweden's) NATO membership," he argued. He forewarned that such incidents might become more common in response to the ongoing conflict, highlighting Russia's usage of various tactics.
