Super Bowl speculation: Will Taylor Swift make it from Tokyo to Vegas?
Taylor Swift has undeniably enjoyed a successful year. The singer has spent nearly a year touring the globe with "The Eras Tour", already being heralded as the most lucrative tour in history. Swift, aged 34, recently triumphed at the Grammy awards, securing the Album of the Year award for the fourth time and announcing her next record. There has been just as much of a buzz surrounding her relationship with American football player, Travis Kelce, as there has been around her professional triumphs in recent months. Swift has become a regular spectator at Kelce's team's games, the Kansas City Chiefs. In just a few hours, Kelce is set to play one of the most significant games of his career, and it's expected that his other half will be in the audience.
Super Bowl 2024. Will Taylor Swift be there? Reports suggest she has arrived in Los Angeles
This Sunday, Taylor Swift's partner will be participating in the Super Bowl for the fourth time. Kelce, alongside his Kansas City Chiefs colleagues, will be seeking to defend their previous year's title, challenging the San Francisco 49ers. This major event in American football draws significant media attention each year, and sightings of high-profile stars watching the final matches are commonplace. Rumours suggesting Taylor Swift will attend this year's event appear to be causing quite a stir overseas.
Of late, American media has speculated over whether the singer will make it to the Super Bowl. Still on tour, she has recently been performing in Tokyo. Interestingly, a couple of days ago, the US Embassy in Japan issued an official statement, affirming that the artist should be able to arrive in the States in time for the big game, provided that she embarks on her journey directly after her concert. On Saturday, Taylor gave her final (fourth) concert in Japan and boarded a plane to the US later that same evening. According to the Daily Mail, the artist left Japan around 2:30 pm GMT, arriving in the US before 7 pm GMT (taking into account time difference).
Videos have emerged online showing Swift's private jet landing in Los Angeles. Page Six reported sighting the singer as she disembarked from the plane. Also, photos have been shared showcasing the artist's car departing from LAX airport escorted by police officers.
Is Taylor Swift set to drive to the Super Bowl? It seems she can't park her private jet in Las Vegas
British media reports suggest that Taylor spent the night at her home in LA. Officially, it still remains unclear whether the singer will be present at the Super Bowl, although that seems likely. However, to watch her partner in action, Swift firstly needs to travel to Las Vegas. International press suggests that the singer will most probably have to drive to the American city renowned for its gambling. According to the AP, all parking spaces for private jets are currently occupied at Las Vegas airports.
CBS Sports highlights that the journey from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is less than five hours. As such, they believe that the singer should make it to the Super Bowl, set to commence on Sunday at 11:30 pm GMT.
It's worth noting that TMZ reported last week that Travis Kelce's family will be watching the Super Bowl from a luxury box at the stadium. Expected to join them are Taylor Swift, her friends and family, including her parents and brother Austin with his partner. To secure these prime seats near the field, Travis may have paid over a million dollars.
