"Squid Game" interestingly revived the theme of corrupt billionaires seeking new thrills through perverse entertainment. The Korean elite gathered 456 individuals facing financial difficulties, offering them a chance to participate in a tournament with a prize of 45 billion won, approximately £28 million. Participants competed in tasks inspired by children's games, with the loser being eliminated.

Business is booming

The series attracted 140 million users in September 2021, breaking the record previously held by "Bridgerton". The continuation of "Squid Game" became a business imperative. At the quarterly shareholder meeting, Netflix's CEOs shared the latest news about the second season.

Notably, in the first three months of 2024, the platform gained nine million subscribers, now boasting almost 270 million subscribers. Its revenue was £6.8 billion, with an operating income of £1.9 billion.

Premiere times

The most important information for viewers from the Netflix shareholder meeting concerned this year's premieres. Thus, the second season of "The Night Agent", the final season of "Cobra Kai", and "Squid Game 2" will be available in the second half of the year.
