A perfect solution is a natural drink that quickly brings relief and supports digestion. Discover the recipe for a smoothie that will become your holiday saviour!
Why do we feel so heavy after the holidays?
Holiday dishes, although delicious, are often heavy on the stomach. Large amounts of fats, sugar, and salt burden our bodies. Additionally, irregular meals, stress, and lack of exercise contribute to digestive problems. As a result, we may experience bloating, constipation, heartburn, and a feeling of heaviness in the stomach.
How to prepare a drink for constipation?
Making this smoothie is incredibly simple, and the ingredients are easily accessible. Here's how to make it:
Ingredients:
- 4 dried plums,
- 1 kiwi,
- 1 tablespoon of wheat bran,
- 1 cup of kefir (or water if you prefer a dairy-free version),
- 125 millilitres of water (optional, for a thinner consistency).
Instructions:
- Pour hot water over the dried plums and let them sit for at least 15 minutes, or preferably for a few hours. This will make them soft and easier to blend.
- Peel the kiwi and cut it into smaller pieces.
- Place the soaked plums (along with the soaking water), kiwi, bran, and kefir in a blender. If you wish, add a little water to make the drink more fluid.
- Blend everything to a smooth consistency.
The drink is best consumed in the morning on an empty stomach or during the day, especially after a heavy meal. Regular consumption for several days can significantly improve the functioning of the digestive system.
The natural drink made from dried fruits and kefir is a simple way to alleviate digestive problems. Thanks to its high fibre and probiotic content, it supports intestinal peristalsis, reduces bloating, and speeds up digestion. Moreover, it is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium, strengthening the body after holiday feasts.
If you experience discomfort after a heavy meal, also try short breathing exercises and light abdominal massage. A few deep breaths and belly contractions during breath-holding can stimulate the digestive system to work.
