European plum smoothies are a delightful choice for cooler days. Rich in fibre and antioxidants, they help support gut health and boost immunity. They’re an excellent way to extend the taste of summer while stepping into autumn with a healthy gut and a smile on your face.

The combination of sweet European plums with aromatic cinnamon and refreshing lemon juice is not only delicious, but also exceptionally healthy.

Plums are a treasure trove of vitamins and minerals essential for the body's proper functioning. They contain vitamins A, C, E, K, and B-group vitamins, which strengthen immunity and improve overall health. Additionally, they are a rich source of calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and iron, all crucial for strong bones, proper muscle function, and the production of red blood cells.

It is an ideal transitional recipe between refreshing summer drinks and warming beverages of the autumn-winter season.

Ingredients:

  • 6 European plums,
  • 120 ml of water,
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon,
  • 1 teaspoon of honey.

Preparation:

  1. Wash the plums, remove the stones, and cut them into smaller pieces.
  2. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more water.

This recipe is a base with room for experimentation. Instead of water, add apple juice, include other fruits, or sprinkle with bran - feel free to mix and match with additional ingredients. This way, the drink won't become monotonous. Nuts and seeds will provide healthy fats and protein. And if you’re looking for a natural sweetener, honey is an excellent choice.

The smoothie tastes best chilled. You can serve it with ice cubes or fresh mint. Enjoy!
